Ron Chapple, a photographer living in Hawaii who wanted a fun/tribal look.

The reference drawing for the symbol was found in a collection of black-and-white design motifs from ancient Mexico. We added the camera in the middle and adjusted the hair to resemble Ron's trademark ringlets. The name Fotomon rendered in the Remedy family of funked-up fonts and some splashy colors sealed the deal. This was definitely a playful design, but it worked too and was published in a book entitled "Great T-Shirt Graphics."
